NMT, come on now…

It’s a rivalry sure, but to poke fun at an opposing player (Thomas Robinson) about his late mother is an embarrassment to the whole University. For those of you who didn’t hear, a student at MU came up with the oh so funny phrase of (sarcasm), “NO MOM TOM” or the abbreviation “NMT” and was planning to create t-shirts.

While kU has had their fair share of insults, play on words, and hooligan chants (Meth Capital of the World, MUCK FIZZOU, Mizzery etc.), no one should ever bring up a players personal life, especially an issue as delicate as ones late mother.

There really is not much else to say. It is stupid that because what one kid does, people exclaim that the entire University is classless. I can assure you kU fans that there are people with a soul on this campus.

*side note: you would think from walking around campus all day I would have heard something about the situation, but instead it is now 11:30pm and I am just getting word. I could definitely see a kU fan just randomly posting on a basketball thread saying “Hey! Did you hear what Mizzou fans are saying?! NMT!” i.e. making the whole thing about…
